JOC and NATO discuss common goals

    The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, discussed today, Thursday, with the commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant-General Giovanni M. Iannucci, training files, capacity-building and common goals.

    A statement of the Joint Operations Command, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated, "The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, met the commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant General Giovanni M. Iannucci, in the presence of the commander of the Federal Police Forces and the Director of the Planning Authority."
    The statement added that the meeting witnessed a number of issues of common interest, foremost of which is coordination and joint cooperation.

    The two sides also discussed "the importance of developing bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation in common areas and issues, foremost of which is interest in training and qualification, and holding workshops and seminars related to capacity building, securing requirements, and achieving common goals."
