President Biden released a statement Saturday morning congratulating GOP Rep. Kevin McCarthy on his election as House speaker and suggested they look for opportunities for bipartisanship.
 
The Republican MP in the US House of Representatives succeeded in obtaining the necessary votes to elect him as Speaker of the House of Representatives after 15 voting rounds.
