Al-Sudani confirms to MOD his support for the army

The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, today, Friday, made a phone call with the Minister of Defense, Thabet Muhammad Saeed al-Abbasi, while confirming his support for the Iraqi army.

The Ministry of Defense stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, made a phone call with Defense Minister Thabet Muhammad Saeed al-Abbasi, and congratulated him on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the heroic Iraqi army.".

The statement added, "He also congratulated all commanders, officers, ranks, and associates on this memory.".

Al-Sudani affirmed, according to the statement, "his support for this ancient army," wishing its heroes "to make more efforts to preserve the land and people of Iraq."
