The Minister of Culture, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, announced today, Wednesday, that Iraqi antiquities will be soon recovered from Britain, which were given for the purposes of the study.
Al-Badrani said, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the ministry addressed the British side regarding the process of recovering Iraqi antiquities, and the recovery process will take place after our visit to the Kingdom."
He added, "The antiquities in Britain have been taken since 1932 for study, and they are not among the looted antiquities, and now they are ready to be recovered.".
He pointed out, "The antiquities will return to the homeland in the Iraqi Museum," noting that "the antiquities were transferred abroad based on agreements with the Iraqi government previously for study purposes."
