France requires arrivals from China to present a Corona test

    France published today, Saturday, a decree setting the dates for the Covid-19 tests that it imposes on travelers from China, who will have to show a negative test result before taking off the plane, starting from January 5 .

    The decree sets the dates for the entry into force of the procedures, which were announced by the French government on Friday evening, and these procedures, which are valid until January 31, stipulate that random “PCR” tests will be conducted, starting from Sunday, for those arriving in France, and that the imposition of wearing a mask for travelers over the age of Six years on board flights departing from China towards France .

    From January 5, arrivals from China over the age of 11 will have to present a negative COVID-19 test conducted less than 48 hours before take-off, according to the decree .

    The decree also stated that "these travelers will also have to commit to undergoing a random screening campaign upon their arrival on (French) territory and to isolate themselves in the event that a positive result is proven ."

    In the face of the surge of Covid-19 infections in China, France joins European countries - including Italy and Spain - that impose restrictions on arrivals from China, at a time when the European Union has not yet reached a common position in this regard .
