Al-Maliki stresses Egypt's pivotal role and calls for coordinating efforts with Iraq

The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, stressed Egypt's pivotal role regionally and internationally, stressing the need to coordinate efforts with Iraq.

The media office of the head of the State of Law coalition stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Maliki received in his office the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq, Walid Ismail." 

The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed the future of bilateral relations and ways of developing them between the two brotherly countries, and issues of common concern were also discussed." 

Al-Maliki stressed, according to the statement, Egypt's pivotal role at the regional and international levels, and the importance of coordinating joint efforts and consolidating solidarity and cooperation for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples. 

He pointed out that "Iraq was able to overcome many challenges, and today everyone supports and the new government in order to succeed and implement its obligations to the Iraqi people." 

In turn, Ambassador Ismail affirmed Egypt's keenness to consolidate relations between the two brotherly countries in all fields to serve common interests.
