The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received on Thursday,a written message from his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Presidency of the Republic said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that, "The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, received today, at the Baghdad Palace, the Turkish ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Konay."
The statement added, "At the outset of the meeting, Ambassador Alireza Konay delivered the President a written message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan related to bilateral relations, and the desire to enhance coordination and cooperation between the two countries on the basis of the common interests of the two friendly peoples, and mutual respect for supporting regional peace and stability, and the importance of intensifying bilateral communication at all levels to strengthen bilateral relations, in addition to inviting President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid to visit Turkey.
The President of the Republic conveyed his greetings and good wishes to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and to the Turkish people for continued prosperity and progress, and thanked him for the invitation he extended to him, stressing "the importance of developing bilateral relations and mutual cooperation for the benefit of the two countries and peoples."
