The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, announced on Wednesday, the killing of 5 terrorists with an air strike in Tal Afar district.
Maj. Gen Rasool said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and according to accurate information from the heroes in the Counter-Terrorism Service, the brave air hawks and army aviation carried out an air strike in Tal Afar district within the Sheikh Ibrahim mountains."
The statement added, "The operation resulted, according to pre-emptive intelligence, in the killing of (5) terrorists, one of whom was a leader of the terrorist ISIS gangs."
It added, "The counter-terrorism service pledges to our honorable people to continue operations against the elements of terrorist gangs of ISIS, wherever they are."
