Al-Mandalawi calls to handle crises and challenges by focusing on scientific and social issues

First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi called on Wednesday to focus on scientific and social issues to handle crises and challenges.
 
 
Al-Mandalawi said in a speech during the Second International Conference on Methodological and Knowledge Developments in Political Science and its Reality in Iraq and the Arab World, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Research centers and strategic studies should focus on scientific, social and political science issues to provide a clear vision and accurate treatment of all crises and challenges that Iraq is going through, and to highlight the requirements and government support that these sciences need to contribute to their scientific and methodological growth."
 
He confirmed that "the intellectual and political restrictions that the former regime deliberately placed on these sciences prevented their development, cut off their link from the progress taking place in their fields outside Iraq, and deprived the country of benefiting from them at the level of developing the system and society," pointing to "the importance of developing the field of political science to meet the needs of Iraq after change, especially in the fields of political development, comparative politics, and political thought."
