Al-Sudani receives an invitation to visit the headquarters of the EU in Brussels

    Prime Minister Mohamed Shia’a Al-Sudani received today, Tuesday, an invitation to visit the headquarters of the European Union in Brussels.
    The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani met, this evening, Tuesday, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs of the European Union, Josep Borrell, on the sidelines of participation in the second Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership hosted by Jordan.”
    According to the statement "The meeting witnessed discussions of bilateral relations between Iraq and all European Union countries, means to enhance partnership and exchange at the economic and security levels, and other fields of common interest."
    Al-Sudani pointed out that "Iraq attaches importance to balance in its foreign relations, and the direction towards international action to strengthen the security and stability of the region, in addition to joint efforts in the field of combating terrorism and extremism, and facing economic challenges."
    While Borrell confirmed "the European Union's support for the stability of Iraq and the strengthening of cooperation at various levels," he directed "an invitation to Al-Sudani to visit the European Union headquarters in Brussels, in order to discuss more files of common interest, and to consolidate partnership relations between Iraq and the countries of the Union."
