New joint security operation launched in Diyala

A Joint security force carried out on Tuesday, new security operation east and west of Narin River in Diyala province to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorists groups.
 
"Forces from the 4th, 23rd, and 110th Brigades and the Commando Regiment of Diyala Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces, in addition to the second battalion in the Directorate of Armor Fighting and the supporting forces of the Popular Mobilization Forces, carried out a security operation east and west of the Narin River in Diyala,"said Nineveh Operations Commander Talib al-Musawi, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
 
Al-Musawi added, "it’s a 2-pronged operation was, the first east of Narin River, that carried out with the participation of all the aforementioned brigades, and the second west of Narin River, which was carried out by a force from the Iraqi army."
 
He also added," The operation aims to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorists groups maintain the momentum of the security in that area, as well as reviewing the results of the air strike carried out by the army against the remnants of ISIS earlier."
