Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani affirmed on Wednesday, that holding the book fair in Baghdad is an opportunity to enrich the cultural and literary movements, as well as for dialogue, while calling for expanding the publication of books, increasing their readers, and accessing more science and knowledge.
Al-Sudani told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The establishment of the book fair in Baghdad, Culture and History, is an important event and activity that contributes to enriching the cultural and literary movements."
He added, "Holding the exhibition is also an important opportunity for publishers to provide important and translated books to universities and research centers, as well as a suitable station for dialogue between writers and intellectuals."
He pointed out, "Technology has entered the line of publishing books, and today we are talking about electronic books, and through this exhibition we contribute to the call for expanding publishing and increasing the number of readers as an opportunity to enrich culture and learn about science and knowledge."
