Al-Sudani and Al-Halbousi agree to overcome obstacles facing the commission to hold provincial elections

    Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani and Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi confirmed today, Sunday, the overcoming of obstacles in front of the Electoral Commission to hold provincial elections.
     
    The media office of the Prime Minister said, in a statement, that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani held, today, a joint meeting with Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, which was attended by the head of the Independent High Electoral Commission, Jalil Adnan, and the director of the President's Office Council of Ministers, and the head of the advisory board in the Prime Minister's Office.
      "The meeting was devoted to discussing the obstacles facing the commission's work and the preparations for holding the provincial council elections as scheduled in the government program during the next year, and the necessities to proceed with this constitutional entitlement and complete the biometric registration of voters."
      "During the meeting, they reviewed the support of the Commission at the legislative and executive levels in order to continue its work perfectly," noting that "it was agreed to continue coordination between the government and the House of Representatives for everything that would overcome obstacles in front of the Commission." According to the statement.
