Investment Commission of Basra governorate announced on Friday, that first center for nuclear medicine will be opened soon.
Alaa Abdul Hussein, head of Investment Commission of Basra said to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “ the center has modern devices for early cancer diagnosis, and it also has tests and medications that are not provided in other centers.”
He added that the investor in cooperation with the American General Electric company, installed the 40-ton core operating in the electromagnetic space to produce the radioactive material that is used in the early diagnosis of cancer."
He also said that , "The project area amounted to 1,500 square meters, while the cost of the center exceeded $8.5 million."
