The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, directed mobilizing efforts to control the fire of the commercial complex in Al-Waziriyah.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, directed to mobilize all the ministry's efforts to control the fire that broke out in the commercial complex in the Al-Waziriyah area."
"This came during his presided of the operations room set up by the minister in the Ministry of Interior, Al-Shammari stressed the need for everyone to combine efforts with the Civil Defense Directorate, which takes upon itself the fight against fires throughout the country." According to the statement.
Al-Shammari praised "the efforts of the Civil Defense Directorate's employees," stressing "the need to generalize safety and prevention measures on commercial buildings to prevent the recurrence of fire accidents that cause loss of life and money."
