The Iraqi National Security Service INSS announced on Wednesday the arrest of two men accused of impersonating an officer and a lawyer in Nineveh and Basra.
A statement by INSS received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that “INSS’s Detachments in Nineveh province began to follow up on a man impersonating an officer to entrap citizens, deluding them to work with the security services in exchange for funds from them, he was arrested after obtaining the required judicial approvals."
The statement added that "INSS detachments were also able to arrest a man impersonating a (lawyer) red-handed, in one of the official departments in Basra province," noting that "the accused were referred to the judicial authorities to receive their just punishment."
