Plasschaert: Retrieve funds and return them to their rightful owners

Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert called on Tax Authority of the Ministry of Finance to retrieve the funds and return them to their rightful owners.

She posted a tweet on her official Twitter account, saying "What can Iraq do with its missing billions USD? Invest in schools, hospitals, energy, water, roads etc."

"Retrieve these funds and return them to their rightful owners. Support the GoI in its investigations. Protect those who uncover. Ensure accountability," highlighted Plasschaert.
