President Abdel Latif Rashid stressed today, Monday, the need to consolidate historical relations between Iraq and Egypt.
The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement that "President of the Republic, Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid, received a phone call from the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in which he congratulated him on the occasion of his assumption of the position."
Al-Sisi praised "the historical relations between Iraq and Egypt," noting "the necessity of consolidating it in a way that serves the higher interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples."
The President of the Republic valued President Sisi's good feelings, stressing "deepening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two countries and the importance of joint work to achieve the expectations and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for progress and prosperity."
