The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Muhammad Kadhim Al Sadiq, discussed, on Sunday, bilateral relations and joint coordination.
"President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received today Sunday the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Muhammad Kadhim Al Sadiq," The media office of the President of the Republic stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop it, stressing the importance of boosting cooperation and joint coordination between the two neighboring countries, "The statement added.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Muhammad Kadhim Al Sadiq, offered, during the meeting, "congratulations to the President of the Republic on his election as President of the Republic of Iraq," wishing him "good luck and success in his new duties."
The Iranian ambassador affirmed his country's support for Iraq in enhancing its security and stability.
