The Joint Operations Command-JOC announced on Saturday, that a high-level security delegation visted Al-Hawizeh Marsh in Maysan Governorate to oversee the construction of the berm on the Iraqi-Iranian border strip.
JOC said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that," A high-level security delegation included the Army Chief of Staff, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, the Commander of the Ground Forces, and the commanders of military engineering at the Ministry of Defense and the Popular Mobilization Forces, arrived at Al-Hawizeh Marsh in Maysan Governorate.
The delegation will visit a site to oversee the great exerted efforts to construct an earthen berm at the borders with Iran in accordance with cabinet decree no. 57 of 2022, the statement added.
The delegation will also be briefed on the security measures implemented by Maysan Operations Command and the security units and services operating in the territory under its jurisdiction to protect the infrastructure and oil facilities."
