The seven-time winner of the Ballon d’Or Lionel Messi is in serious trouble after flying on his opulent private jet for 52 flights totaling approximately 368 hours in the past three months, from June to August of this year.
The issue arose when research on average consumption was conducted by French media. The private plane reportedly emits 1502 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2), which is equivalent to 150 years’ worth of emissions from a typical human. This report’s disclosure has proven to be damaging for the Paris Saint Germain player because he is cited with a serious offense such as going against nature.
