Director of the Civil Defense Directorate, Major General Kadhim Bohan confirmed on Saturday, that the fate of 3 to 4 people is still unknown as a result of a building collapse in Karrada.
"80% of the building is completely collapsed and the Civil Defense teams succeeded in rescuing 13 people, whose injuries were moderate and not critical," said Bohan in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Bohan explained, "We do not have 100% confirmed information about the number of people that were inside the building at the moment of collapse. It is likely that 3 to 4 people will remain under the rubble of the collapse, and their fate is unknown so far."
"An investigation has been opened into the causes behind the collapse, and its results will be presented to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior," he noted.
