3.9 magnitude earthquake in Dhi Qar

    Ministry of Transport announced on Saturday, that a 3.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Suq Al-Shuyoukh, Dhi Qar.

    The seismic observatories in the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded an earthquake on Saturday, in Dhi Qar Governorate, according to a statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    The statement included that "the earthquake was recorded at 05:54:25 pm today, local time, as it reached 3.9, located 29 km southwest of Suq Al-Shuyoukh district, Dhi Qar.

    The earthquake was felt by the citizens in the area, as the ministry clarified, "we will update you in case of any further developments."

    The Authority called on "citizens to be aware, to stay away from rumors and false news, and to abide by the seismic commandments issued by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring."
