The President Barham Salih and French Ambassador Eric Chevalier affirmed cooperation in various global challenges.
The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received, today, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the French ambassador to Iraq, Eric Chevalier."
He added, "During the meeting, they discussed the strong bilateral relations that bring together the two friendly countries and peoples and ways to strengthen them in various fields, stressing cooperation in various global challenges, especially combating terrorism and extremist ideology, political, economic, commercial and cultural cooperation, protecting the environment and confronting the climate change crisis."
Ambassador Eric Chevalier affirmed "his country's keenness on the security and stability of Iraq and the safety of its people, and support for the path of dialogue and convergence to address political issues in the country and achieve progress and development for Iraq."
