The Council of Advisors discusses the file of Iraq’s participation in the Education Transformation Summit 2022

    The council of advisors in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers discussed the file of Iraq's participation in the Education Transformation Summit 2022.
    A statement by the commission, stated that "the council of advisers in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers held a consultative meeting to discuss the draft of the Iraqi national report prepared for the summit of the United Nations General Assembly, which aims to bring about a transformation in education until 2030."
    The statement added, "The attendees expressed their observations and suggestions on the draft that was prepared after three meetings of the advisory body with relevant government agencies, civil society organizations and the private sector, and the discussions were completed in the last consultative meeting held on Monday, 8th of this month, chaired by the head of the advisory body Abdul Karim Al-Faisal, and in the presence of Minister of Education Ali Hamid Mikhlif and a number of undersecretaries and officials in the ministries of Education, Labour, Planning and Finance, in addition to representatives of UNESCO, UNICEF and international donors.
    The statement pointed out that "the report comes in light of the United Nations Secretary-General's invitation to hold the Education Transformation Summit 2022, where the participating countries, including Iraq, will review their national reports that focus on five main axes: (inclusive, equitable, safe and healthy schools, education and skills for life and work sustainable development, teachers and the teaching profession, learning and digital transformation, in addition to education financing).
    The statement continued, "Iraq will present its national report on the process of transforming education after the Iraqi government's approval and presentation at the New York Conference called by the United Nations in September 2022."
