Military Intelligence captures two terrorists who tried to enter Nineveh, SMC reports

The Security Media Cell (SMC) announced on Sunday, that the Military Intelligence captures two terrorists who tried to enter Nineveh province from another province.

 “ Its continuous follow-up to the movements of terrorist elements and the intersection of information about them with other security services," SMC stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).


The statement added, "Based on accurate information from the Intelligence Division of the 16th Division, which confirmed the existence of an attempt by two terrorist elements to enter Nineveh province with the intention of disrupting the ideal security of the governorate."

It added, "In cooperation with intelligence and a force from the Third Infantry Brigade, a tight ambush was set up for them in the control of Martyr Sabhan (the entrance to Nineveh province) and they were overthrown."


It noted that "they are among the elements that provide ISIS terrorist gangs with information about our security forces and their collaborators, and are wanted by the judiciary according to an arrest warrant in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of terrorism, as they were duly handed over to the requesting party."
