TheCanadian Embassy stressed Thursday the importance of conducting a comprehensive investigation into the Turkish bombing of northern Iraq, stressing the need for the parties to the conflict to do their utmost to distinguish between unarmed civilians and fighters.
Canadian Ambassador to Iraq Gregory Galligan said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "I would like to convey my condolences to all the families and friends of the dead and wounded in today's bombing in Zakho, Iraq."
He stressed the need to "make every effort to distinguish between unarmed civilians and combatants," stressing "the importance of conducting a comprehensive investigation into this incident."
