Al-Araji: ISIS threat continues

     National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji confirmed today, Tuesday, that the continuation of the Russian-Ukrainian war has cast a shadow over crises in many countries, while noting that the terrorist threat of ISIS continues.

    The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received in his office today, the commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Lieutenant-General Giovanni Inucci," noting that "during the meeting, the work of the NATO mission was reviewed." NATO in Iraq, as well as discussing the continuation of cooperation in the field of advice and training, as well as discussing files and common issues, and the repercussions of the Ukrainian-Russian war.

    Al-Araji stressed that "the continuation of the Russian-Ukrainian war cast a shadow over crises in many countries," pointing out "the importance of resorting to the logic of dialogue in resolving international crises.".

    Al-Araji pointed to "the need to benefit from the expertise of NATO, to work with the Iraqi security authorities," explaining that "the terrorist threat of ISIS continues.".

    For his part, the commander of the NATO mission expressed his mission's aspiration to work with the state's security institutions, to achieve tangible results, especially the training of Iraqi cadres in the field of cybersecurity.
