Oil Ministery planning to ensure the smooth flow of crude oil to global markets

    The Ministry of Oil confirmed, today, Tuesday, planning to ensure the smooth flow of crude oil to global markets, while stressing the importance of developing oil fields in the south to support national production. 

    A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the First Vice President of the National Oil Company, Executive Director Hamid Younis, conducted an inspection tour of the Basra Oil Company and the Faw Oil Port, accompanied by the Director General of the Basra Oil Company and a number of officials, during which the implementation of a number of development projects was followed up Infrastructures that aim to sustain and increase production and escalate export capacities, including the marine pipeline system project and storage and pumping stations in the Faw port in Basra Governorate.

    Younis stressed that "the ministry and the company are keen to implement projects that contribute to sustaining and increasing the national production of crude oil, and working to achieve a high flow of crude oil to global markets in support of the national economy.".

    He added, "The national staff, in cooperation with international contracting companies, continues day and night in order to implement the planned programs for these projects despite the economic and health challenges and high temperatures, stressing the ministry's endeavor to implement more projects to upgrade infrastructure, expand export capabilities and develop southern ports, in proportion to the expected increases.

    He pointed out that "the ministry's success in exporting limited quantities with large financial revenues ranged between (10-11) billion dollars per month, which contributes to supporting the national economy."
