The Jordanian King Abdullah II stressed, today, Saturday, in his speech during his participation in Jeddah Summit for Security and Development, that there is no security, stability or prosperity in the region without a solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital to live in peace and security alongside Israel.
During the summit, the Jordanian monarch pointed out that economic cooperation in the region must include the Palestinian National Authority to ensure the success of regional partnerships.
He stressed the importance of considering cooperation opportunities through the pursuit of regional integration in the areas of food security, energy, transport and water. He continued: "We in Jordan are keen to translate these opportunities into real partnerships in the region, by building on our historical and solid relations with the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and our brothers in Egypt and Iraq, to serve the interests of our peoples, and we embark on these efforts, believing that the only way to progress, It is to work in partnership, as we in Jordan are still hosting more than one million Syrian refugees, providing them with various humanitarian, health and educational services, and facing the renewed security risks on our borders, in combating drug and weapons smuggling, which has become a major threat to the entire region.” .
