Baghdad Operations Command announced Thursday the success of the plan for the blessed Eid al-Adha, while indicating that terrorist plans to target the capital were thwarted during Eid , stressing that the capital's streets did not witness any cuts and there was a flow in the movement.
BOC Commander Lieutenant-General Ahmed Salim said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the security forces managed to thwart a terrorist attempt to target the capital during the blessed Eid al-Adha."
He pointed out, "There are a number of important duties that were carried out before the blessed Eid al-Adha, including the arrest of a number of wanted persons according to Article 4 of terrorism, in addition to the arrest of persons wanted for other criminal matters."
He continued, "Our units carried out pre-emptive operations in the north and south of Baghdad that continued during the Eid to put pressure on the terrorist groups that are trying to carry out terrorist operations inside Baghdad during the days of Eid."
He added, "This holiday did not witness any cuts in the streets of the capital," stressing that "the security plan was flexible, and the citizen felt that through the flow of movement in all areas of the capital."
