Salih: Iraqi-Italian relations are important and must be strengthened

President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed Thursday the importance of Iraqi-Italian relations, stressing the importance of strengthening them and working to confront the challenges of terrorism, economic cooperation and environmental work.

 A statement by the Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the Italian ambassador to Iraq, Maurizio Griganti ."

 The statement added, "During the meeting, the importance of bilateral relations that bring the two countries together in the political, security, economic and cultural fields, and the need to strengthen them towards broader horizons that achieve the ambitions and aspirations of the two countries, was emphasized and Italy's role in supporting Iraq was also praised."

 The President of the Republic stressed that "Iraqi-Italian relations are close, and they must be strengthened through the concluded committees and understandings, and work together to confront various challenges, especially the fight against terrorism, and the promotion of economic cooperation and environmental work."
