The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency (FIIA) announced on Sunday, the arrest of 16 accused drug dealers and traffickers, and the seizure of 5 wheels loaded with smuggled medicines in Baghdad.
“Separate operations based on high-accuracy information and intelligence efforts, to arrest 16 accused of transporting, promoting and trading drugs in different areas in the capital, Baghdad, and seized quantities in their possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a number of weapons,” FIIA said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"They were referred to the concerned authorities to take legal measures against them," FIIA added.
it explained, “FIIA detachments were also able to seize 5 wheels loaded with large quantities of smuggled medicines and arrested their drivers," noting that "two suspects were arrested in a vehicle loaded with medicines of unknown origin and quality in Baghdad."
It stated that "the necessary legal measures have been taken against them."
