The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today, Thursday, the nominees for the award for the best African player for the year 2022.
The initial list of 30 players included Mohamed Salah, Riyad Mahrez, Sadio Mane, Ashraf Hakimi, Frank Casey, Edward Mendy and Kalidou Coulibaly.
The list included:
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool - Egypt), Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City - Algeria), Sadio Mane (Liverpool - Senegal), Bertrand Traore (Aston Villa - Burkina Faso), Platé Toure (Pyramids - Burkina Faso).
Edmund Tapsoba (Bayer Leverkusen - Burkina Faso), Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa (Naples - Cameroon), Karl Toko Ekambi (Lyon - Cameroon), Ali Maaloul (Al-Ahly - Tunisia).

The award ceremony will be held on the 21st of this month in Morocco on the sidelines of the Women's African Nations final, after a break during the previous two years due to the circumstances of the spread of the Corona virus.
