INSS seizes 18 dens and 320 fuel tanks prepared for storage and smuggling

    Iraqi National Security Service announced Monday the seizure of 18 dens and 320 fuel tanks intended for storage and smuggling in four governorates.

    INSS stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the detachments of the National Security Service in the capital, Baghdad, were able to seize 7 tanks and 18 dens that were prepared for storing and smuggling oil derivatives, including 320 fuel tanks of different capacities containing about 59,425 liters of gasoline,  and approximately 28,950 liters of kerosene, and three smugglers were arrested."

    The statement added, "In Babil Governorate, the service 's detachments were able to seize two tanks containing 8,000 liters of smuggled fuel after intercepting their way and arresting their owners, and 42 fuel supply records were seized in their possession," pointing out that "in Dhi Qar governorate, a tank loaded with (  10) thousand liters of smuggled kerosene and the arrest of its owner.

    The statement continued, "As for Salah al-Din, our detachments arrested 8 suspects working in the oil derivatives trade, and 5,100 liters were seized in their possession," noting that "the accused and all the seizures were referred to the relevant authorities to receive their punishment in accordance with the law."
