Ministry of Defence denied on Wednesday, any replacement or transfer of commanders and officers in the Iraqi army.
"Some social media sites and platforms have reported news related to the replacement or transfer of leaders and officers in the Iraqi army, and the ministry confirms that all the news that has been transmitted is false and not accurate," according to a statement by the Ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
The statement included that, "The Ministry will legally prosecute any party that deals with false news related to the leaders, officers and any of the Iraqi army."
“The ministry's website and its platforms on social media are the only agencies dedicated to transmitting news, and we call on the honorable citizens to follow these platforms to know the real news about the Ministry of Defense,” according to the statement.
