Iraq Higher Education discusses Universities reality and global research publications

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research - MOHESR discussed on Saturday, the reality of higher degrees and universities as well as the global research publications.

The Minister of MOHESR Nabil Kadhim Abdul-Sahib, chaired the sixth meeting of the opinion body, in the presence of the members from the advanced owners and deans of all government universities,according to a statement by the Ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

Abdul-Sahib directed the importance of sustaining the environment of the university and laboratories, in addition to scientific and educational supplies during the summer vacation in preparation for the next academic year 2022-2023.

He also directed that, "the university administrations to determine the starting line towards the necessary requirements in light of the university calendar, which set the second of next October as the date for the start of the new school year,"

The Minister emphasized on "addressing the payment of lectures' wages to teaching bodies according to fundamentalist contexts and based on the circulars and instructions in force.

During the meeting, Abdul-Sahib highlighted the need to enhance the interest in scientific research and global publications as to work hard to enroll the largest proportion of Iraqi scientific journals in international containers in order to enable Iraqi universities to compete and be present in international classifications.

He also asserted developing fields of joint academic work with reputable international university institutions.
