The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Nabil Kadhim Abdel Sahib, discussed today, Thursday, with the Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Education Abbas Salim Al-Halabi, the prospects for scientific and academic cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the ministry's media office stated that "the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research received a call from the Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Education, during which they discussed prospects for scientific and academic cooperation between the two brotherly countries.".
He added, "The Minister of Education expressed his keenness to deal seriously and effectively with Arab universities, especially Lebanese ones with a long academic reputation," stressing the importance of developing paths of common interest in the field of higher education and scientific research in light of the scientific determinants and standards adopted in international universities and international classifications and assessments. Which takes into account the academic reputation, scientific research and indicators of preparing students and teachers.”.
For his part, the Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Education expressed his “willingness to advance cooperation and strengthen the scientific paths responsible for developing academic programs and setting their specific objectives that are in the interest of university education between the two brotherly countries.”
