President Salih: Najaf is a Symbol of moderation

The President of Republic, Barham Salih, confirmed on Tuesday, Najaf is a Symbol of moderation, and it promotes peaceful coexistence and supports citizens' legitimate demands, pointing out that Iraq now is in dire need of national unity and soldiery among its citizens.

The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received, at the Al-salam Palace in Baghdad, a delegation that included a number of the Najaf's clan leaders as they discussed the situation in the country in general and Overall situations in the province of Najaf .

 President Salih hailed the crucial role played by Najaf, the supreme religious authority and tribes leaders and dignitaries through promoting and maintaining Iraqi social fabric. It is therefore clear that Najaf is a symbol of moderation and renewal, he said. He also noted that Najaf plays a significant role in supporting the citizens' legitimate demands, rejecting of violence, protecting the country from the threats that it faces, and it also contributes to enhancing security and stability.

"The country is in dire need of national unity and solidarity among all its citizens in order to proceed with meeting national entitlements based on meeting the aspirations of Iraqis for a free and dignified life, and improving service and living conditions," Salih stressed.
