The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Saturday, a new statistic for the number of the detected cases and the number of deaths cases of Viral Hemorrhagic Fever (VHFs).
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Saif Al-Badr, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Since the beginning of this year, MOH has recorded 162 cases of VHFs, including 27 deaths.”
He pointed out that "half of the detected cases recovered, while the first death cases were recorded in Erbil," stressing "the importance of raising awareness among citizens of this disease."
Earlier, the governor of Baghdad, Mohammad Jaber Al-Atta, announced the formation of a joint operations room to develop urgent awareness plans to curb the spread of VHFs.
