The Parliamentary Defense Committee recommends examining the need for Compulsory military service

    The Security and Defense Committee in the Parliament recommended on Thursday, to conduct a feasibility study to determine the extent of the actual need for Compulsory military service law and the mechanisms to apple it.
     
    Committee member  MP Yasser Iskandar told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Iraq has military and technical capabilities that can be invested in supporting its armament system if the financial capabilities are available," referring to "the announcement by the Military Industrialization Authority that there is Iraqi production to enhance defense and other capabilities."
    "The compulsory military service law needs a feasibility study prepared by the Ministry of Defense in coordination with the Parliamentary Committee on Security and Defense, to determine the actual need for the law and the mechanisms for applying it," Iskandar added.
     
    Earlier, The Joint Operations Command confirmed that compulsory military service law is very important to maintain the momentum of the security forces and add new young powers to the Ministry of Interior, Defense and other security agencies and ministries."
