PM Al-Kadhimi: Iraq played an important role in bringing Saudi Arabia and Iran closer together

Iraqi prime minster Mustafa Al-Kadhimi held his weekly press conference in Baghdad on Tuesday in which he addressed a range of developments in Iraq, including in relation to the economy, security, electricity supply, education, and international relations.

Al-Kadhimi indicated that "Iraq played an important role in bringing the views of the regional countries closer by hosting the dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and there is progress in relations."

Regarding the security file, the Prime Minister affirmed that "we have daily security operations to eliminate terrorists, and the security situation on the Iraqi-Syrian borders is good, and a large part of the security fence on the borders has been achieved," noting that there are those who are trying to destabilize the security file.

during  the cabinet session today, Al-Kadhimi explained, “The council discussed the health file by hosting the undersecretary, and submitted a report on hemorrhagic fever and monkeypox, and also discussed the lack of electrical power, and the council decided to provide the governorates with fuel and supply kerosene for private generators.”

He pointed out that "today's cabinet meeting also discussed supporting the tourism sector through a proposal presented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism."
