The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced three projects to reduce traffic bottlenecks in Baghdad, while indicating that the ring road project will be completed in four phases.

“There are several projects to relieve the traffic bottlenecks, including the five entrances to the capital project, all of which were referred to the companies to be implemented, as some of these projects were joint implemented and reached good completion rates,” The Cabinet secretariat’s spokesman, Haider Majid, said in a press conference attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

Majid added, "Metro Baghdad project is scheduled to be included in the budget," noting that "there is a coordination between the Ministry of Transport General Directorate of Traffic and the relevant authorities for the train road and designs."

He pointed out, “The ring road project, which is 96 kilometers long, will be completed in four phases, and is in the design phase."
