PM Al-Kadhimi meets Syrian artists

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received on Monday, a number of Syrian artists participating in the activities of the Syrian Film Week, hosted by Iraq in Baghdad.

    During the meeting, Al-Kadhimi expressed a deep welcome to the participating artists and their visit to Iraq, as he considered it an important step in strengthening cultural and artistic cooperation between Iraq and Syria, for they are two essential countries in the depth of civilization of the region and its fraternal peoples, according to a statement by the media office of the Prime Minister received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    PM Al-Kadhimi noted that "the great artist Duraid Laham in addiotion to the artists Hala Bitar, Ayman Zeidan, the director Bassim Al-Khatib and a number of other Syrian artists and creators in the field of cinema that were among the attendees."

    The statement included that the attendant artists expressed their happiness for their presence in the capital, Baghdad, alongside Iraqi artists and intellectuals, as they expressed their hope for "more joint artistic and cultural work with their Iraqi counterparts, which carries people's concerns and the public's aspirations to see expressive and creative artworks."

    "The meeting was attended by the Minister of Culture, Hassan Nadhim, and the Syrian ambassador to Iraq, Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah," included the statement.
