US Ambassador confirms her country's support for Iraq

    The US ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, affirmed her country's support for Iraq in various fields.

    The media center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, during his meeting with the US ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, reviewed the most important files of bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the United States of America, in addition to the most important developments on the regional and international levels.

      "The two sides discussed during the meeting the most important developments of the Russian-Ukrainian war, and the efforts of the Arab Contact Group in dealing with the repercussions of the crisis, and its effects on the world," noting that "the virtual meeting held today by the ministers of the "Arab Contact Group", with the participation of the Secretary-General of the League Arab countries". The statement added.

    The minister stressed, according to the statement, that "the relevant ministers raised the effects and risks resulting from the continuation of the war, and its direct impact on international peace and security," adding; That the "Arab Contact Group" will hold a meeting to study issues related to its future work in order to activate its work for which it was established.

    For her part, the US ambassador stressed that the United States supports Iraq in various fields, and that it will continue to do so.

    The two sides discussed the overall developments in the Iraqi situation.

    In turn, the ambassador looked forward to the formation of the new Iraqi government during the coming period, and thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the many issues they discussed in depth, including the nature of what the "Arab Contact Group" is working on.
