The First Deputy Speaker of the parliament , Hakim Al-Zamili, confirmed Sunday, that the food security law came to serve the citizen and not for personal matters, while expressing his hope that the law will be voted on within the Finance Committee.

Al-Zamili said in a speech during his presidency of the meeting of the Finance Committee to put the final touches on the Food Security Law, which was attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the Finance Committee is distinguished and is considered one of the most important committees, and it is the heart of the parliament ,” noting that “we hope that the Committee’s excellence will continue and to have one opinion in legislating laws by agreement between its members and not between the heads of the blocs.

He added that "the Food Security Law is important, and we did not adopt it for personal matters, but rather for the needs of the citizen, especially electricity, social care and the ration card, which is of interest to a large segment of citizens, especially the poor, in addition to the segment of free lecturers and the governorates."

Al-Zamili expressed his hope that "the law will be voted on within the Finance Committee," stressing the need to "consider the law in the interest of the citizen and not the interests of the provinces or the region."
