The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakim Al-Zamili, stressed today, Tuesday, that no suspicions of corruption may be caused by the Food Security Law.
The Media Department of the House of Representatives said, in a statement that "the Council discussed, in its tenth session, which was held under the chairmanship of Muhammad al-Halbousi, the Speaker of the Council and in the presence of 250 deputies, the proposal for the emergency support law for food security and development."
"The council finished, within its agenda, reading a report and discussing the proposed law on emergency support for food security and development submitted by the Finance Committee.
"The discussions called for allocating support for the stalled projects, especially water and sewage services, support for the segments of farmers, lecturers and the requirements of local agricultural production, and to work seriously in favor of achieving the needs of the people of the liberated areas and meeting their demands for compensation and ending the file of the displaced, and demanding the disclosure of external and internal loan schedules by the Ministry of Finance and setting subsequent control over the implementation of the provisions of the law. The statement added.
"The claims focused during the session, which was chaired by part of the first deputy chairman of the council, Hakim Al-Zamili, on opening the competition for companies that supply the food basket items, and the demand for the inclusion of the Kurdistan region's share which listed by the Ministry of Planning in law, and the need to determine what development projects are proposed to address unemployment and support Food, pharmaceutical and medical supplies industries. According to the statement.
Al-Zamili stressed, according to the statement, "The Parliament was keen to provide the legal cover for the government to enable it to meet the citizens' entitlements, especially food security, social care salaries, and the allocations of service ministries," noting that "the House of the representative will not allow any suspicions of corruption that may be caused by the Food Security Law."
