Barzani denies submitting a request to the UN Security Council to mediate between Baghdad and Erbil

President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, denied on Sunday , submitting a request to the UN Security Council regarding mediation between Baghdad and Erbil.
 
 
A statement by Barzani's office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the news that claimed that the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, asked the UN Security Council to mediate between Erbil and Baghdad is completely untrue."

The statement added that "this news is fabricated, and the media office of the Kurdistan Region Presidency did not issue any statement ."
