The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah and acting Minister of Immigration and Displacement Othman Al-Ghanimi discussed, today, Tuesday, ways to consolidate security and stability throughout the country, and continue providing urgent humanitarian and relief assistance to the displaced.
The media office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Abdullah Ahmed visited today, Tuesday 17/5/2022, the headquarters of the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, and met with the Minister of Interior and acting Minister of Migration and Displacement, Othman Al-Ghanimi ."
The statement added, "The meeting discussed a number of topics and issues of common interest, foremost of which is the security file, reassessing the situation and enhancing capabilities to face challenges."
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament praised the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and the great responsibilities in maintaining security and protecting the lives of citizens, stressing the importance of continuing the work programs of the Ministry of Migration and Displacement to provide urgent humanitarian and relief aid, especially the necessary needs of food.
He pointed to "the importance of support and cooperation between the ministry and the provinces of the Kurdistan region, as there are large numbers of displaced people in many areas within the region," stressing "the legislative institution's continued support for the work of the security and service ministries with the necessary laws and legislation."
