SMC: 15 wanted persons arrested in Baghdad

    Security Media Cell announced Tuesday the arrest of 15 wanted persons in Baghdad.
     
    The cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The security forces continue to pursue terrorists, outlaws, and perpetrators of clan conflicts (terrorizing citizens) in order to reduce and eliminate this phenomenon in coordination and follow-up with the Director of the Intelligence and Security Department / Baghdad Operations Command, where A force of the 17th Infantry Division, in partnership with a detachment from the National Security Service / Mahmudiya Office, managed to arrest a wanted suspect according to Article 4/1 terrorism. This came after monitoring his presence in the areas south of Baghdad.
     
    SMC added, "A force from the Second Brigade, First Division, Federal Police, set up an ambush in one of the municipalities' checkpoints, during which it was able to monitor and chase a car carrying two accused residents of the (Dhi Qar) governorate, who were seized with one kilogram of crystal narcotic."
     
    SMC also added, "A force from the 42nd Brigade of the Eleventh Infantry Division was also able to arrest two suspects riding a vehicle, and they were seized with a weapon.
     
    SMC explained that "the joint detachments in the Baghdad Operations Command, and through its patrols deployed on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa, were also able, within (the past 24 hours), to arrest (10) suspects according to various legal articles, including one accused of forgery and an impersonator of, "an officer" in addition to the seize an unauthorized drone drone with four pistols, four RBG7 missiles and (2770) ammunition of different sizes and a quantity of narcotics and their drug devices.”
     
    "The arrested and the seized materials have been referred to the competent authorities to take legal measures against them," SMC said.
